Culture Shock

So, I am finally home. Home sweet home, graffiti and all. I miss my girls and I miss being abroad. I miss not understanding things and being uncomfortable (and I am not being sarcastic either). I really miss traveling. If any of you have read the Celestine Prophecy you will understand what I mean when I say that I feel as though I have evolved. I feel like I have change and that my perspective of life has changed. I know it was only a six week trip but a lot of people will never really get the chance to travel and I was fortunate and blessed enough to have done it and LOVED it!

Being back home means facing your personal demons. It also means that you need figure out once again what your heart desires. I fear that I am going to loose this new found fire that is in my heart (as cheesy as that sounds). In any case, I am having major culture shock. Things are just different now. Everyone here in the states seems to be going so fast. Everyone is racing their way through only there is no finish line. It is wierd how I notice that now since I think I was going at the same pace before. Also, I was so used to hearing spanish or not understanding at all so hearing English and understanding was really strange at first. Plus now I am home in a little house with my parents and brothers so it is hard re adjusting to seeing their faces every minute that I am home. Dont get me wrong. I LOVE THEM but it is a small space and I have been so carefree the last six weeks that getting back and being concious of others in my space is hard. I miss my girls too! Arlene is in Hawaii with her man and Aline is in Bs.As. livin it up!

I feel so boring now!

Finally, Hola de Puerto Iguazu, Argentina

(um still trying to upload pics to the blog)
Hi kids:
I finally got my pics from Brazil uploaded unto CD and I am trying really hard to get them onto the Blog for your viewing pleasure. The pictures are totally grreat! I wish you could see them. We are stuck in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina - the border town in Argentina. It is a strange little town that caters to all the tourists that come to see the iguazu cataratas! They are magnificent even in dry season with less than they have seen in 70 years. So strange how the world has changed. Today we crossed the border from Brazil to Argentina with our trusty tour guide, lalalalalalala la-la la-la la-la Fernando (ABBA style) and our tour group. We saw the Iguazu waterfalls from the Argentinean side and they really were magnificent! Better than the ones seen on the Brazil side but dont tell Brazil that! Then our tour guide dropped us off at the Rodoviaria (bus station) where we realized that we had missed all buses to Buenos Aires for the night except for this 24hr bus ride that would go 12 hours to corrientes (a province half way to Buenos Aires) and then another 12 hours to Buenos Aires or we would need to stay the night here in Puerto Iguazu and then take an 18 hour bus straight to BA! We were originally going to go with the 24hr bus but we realized that we would be better off resting for the night here in Puerto Iguazu and then heading out in the morning. We are exhausted from adventuring the Iguazu park and the cataratas! So now we are in Argentia Che and we are resting for our bus ride and eventual time in Buenos Aires! Woohoo!

No Fun. Bye Bye Brazil.

Sorry friends. I have not been able to upload any of my Brazil pictures. I have not been able to find a place that can transfer my pictures onto a CD here in Brazil and especially here in Foz do Iguazu so I will have to leave you with my Peru pictures until I get to Argentina and get something on CD! I have taken so many pictures that I have filled up on entire memory card. I love taking pictures and especially of these wonderful places. I am feeling sad now that my adventure in coming to a close. We are running out of time... so much so that we have cut out most of what we were going to do in Argentina so that we could spend some quality time with Buenos Aires. We hear that there is lots to do there and many day trips to take. I guess that is why all the places that we have called are booked! Today we visited the Iguazu Falls on the Brazil side and let me tell you the Falls are very impressive. I enjoyed starring at their glory and at the eco system around them. There were these raccoons there that looked like ant eaters but had noses like doggies. It was creepy and they follow all the visitors around because they think we have food for them... um, NO! They look like they can bite. They are cute as hell. Maybe there should be a movie about them. This is my last night blogging from beautiful Brazil. Tomorrow we leave to see the Iguazu Falls on the Argentinean side (the countries are only a river apart here) and we are staying in Argentina to finish the last lap of our trip. Who knew that time could fly that fast. I know you all miss me so I will try to get in touch when I get back and I will be keeping the blog up for life after Sur America. Ciao for now and next I write I will be surrounded by portenos (what they call peeps from Buenos Aires). hahaha :)
